Thank you for donating to The Times and Sunday Times Christmas Appeal. It will help these excellent charities to carry out their vital work.
You can make a donation to a single charity or, if you prefer, you can split your donation equally between all three.
If you are a UK taxpayer please do consider making a Gift Aid declaration, which will increase the value of your donation by 25 per cent. It allows charities to reclaim the basic rate of tax on your gift at no extra cost to you.
Kissing it Better is working to end the isolation of old age by bringing the generations together. Through teaching young people aged 4 - 25yrs about what it can mean to be old, and then connecting them to their local care home or hospital for regular visits, our imaginative healthcare projects can make an immediate and lasting difference to the lives of older people.
An NHS report said: “The beauty of the Kissing It Better model is that everyone involved benefits – the patients and their carers, the staff, those giving their time, the provider as a whole and the community.”
World Bicycle Relief empowers rural communities with life-changing bicycles that unlock opportunity and drive lasting change. By providing access to affordable, purpose-designed bicycles, trained mechanics, spare parts and locally led programming, they help millions of people without reliable transportation gain independence and access to healthcare, education and economic opportunity.
Switchback supports young men to find a way out of the justice system and to build stable, rewarding lives. We do this with our award-winning one-to-one mentoring programme delivered through the gate, centred on a meaningful relationship between a Switchback mentor and trainee, and lasting as long as it takes. Nationally, more than 40 per cent of prison leavers reoffend within a year of release – for Switchback trainees, the figure is just 10 per cent.
Beyond direct support, Switchback drives change across the UK, using 18 years of evidence and experience to influence policy and shift public perception. We campaign for a justice system that prioritises rehabilitation and lasting change.
